OVERVIEW

The Innovation Team worked in partnership with several City Departments and community groups to examine how to improve the process of permitting for special events in order to make it clearer, shorter, and easier.

 

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WE’RE TRYING TO SOLVE?

The process of obtaining a permit to hold a special event in the City of Los Angeles is not always clear, easy, or automated. At the same time, it can be hard for residents to track the outcomes of the process. Working with community groups, City agencies and outside support, the i-team examined how the City might make adjustments to improve the process for residents and City agencies.

WHAT IS THE INITIATIVe?

The i-team delivered a plan for making the process clearer and more user-friendly for residents to be implemented over time with collaboration across City Departments and community support.
